How to cancel a meal plan app subscription

Decided the app isn't for you? That's completely fine – not every dumpling is to everyone's taste. Here's how to cancel your subscription so you stop being charged, and what to do if you already have been.

Information checked on 2026-09-25.

Most important: deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. First, work out where you paid: the App Store, Google Play or the app's website.

1. If you paid through the App Store (iPhone)

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap your name at the top.
  3. Choose Subscriptions.
  4. Choose the app and tap Cancel Subscription.

2. If you paid through Google Play (Android)

  1. Open Google Play and tap your profile picture.
  2. Choose Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  3. Choose the app and tap Cancel subscription.

3. If you paid by card on the app's website

Many meal-plan apps are sold through a website after a long quiz. You won't see these subscriptions in your phone's settings. What to do:

  1. Look for a cancel button in the account or membership section of the app.
  2. Check your purchase confirmation email – it often has a link to manage your account.
  3. If you can't find one, email the provider: “Please cancel my subscription linked to this email address, from today.” Keep your email and their reply.
  4. Check the terms for a deadline for cancelling before the next payment.

Example: Persikas.com

According to the Persikas.com terms and conditions (a Lithuanian meal-plan app; checked on 2026-09-25): you must cancel your membership in the app, under More → Subscription → Cancel membership (in Lithuanian: Daugiau → Prenumerata → Narystės atšaukimas), at least 48 hours before the end of the current period. Deleting the app doesn't cancel the membership. Contact: info@persikas.com. The terms may change, so always check the latest version.

4. Charged after cancelling? Here's what to do

  1. Gather evidence: the cancellation confirmation, screenshots, your bank statement.
  2. Send the provider a complaint by email: when you cancelled, how much was taken and when, and what you're asking for (a refund).
  3. If they don't reply within 14 days or refuse, you can contact Lithuania's consumer rights authority, the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (VVTAT), free of charge. You must do this no later than one year after contacting the seller.
  4. Paid by card? Contact your bank about disputing the payment. If the payments keep happening, your bank can help stop them.
  5. Paid through the App Store or Google Play? You can ask Apple for a refund directly (reportaproblem.apple.com) or use your order history in Google Play.

This describes the procedure in Lithuania. If you live outside Lithuania, contact your own national consumer authority; in the EU, the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net) can also help with disputes with a seller in another EU country. Before you buy another meal plan, check

  • Can you see the price before the quiz, or only at the end?
  • Is the first month's price the same as later ones?
  • How do you cancel, and is there an “X hours before” deadline?
  • Is there a money-back guarantee, and what are its conditions?
  • Does the website give the company's details and contacts?
By the way, Dumpli does it differently. You see the price straight away, we send a reminder before every payment, and you can cancel in one tap. Leaving us is easier than joining – and that's how it should be. Our promises →

Frequently asked questions

Does deleting the app cancel the subscription?

No. If you delete the app from your phone, the subscription stays active and the payments continue. You need to cancel it separately – in your phone's settings, in Google Play or on the provider's website or app.

Why can't I find the subscription in my phone's settings?

If you didn't pay through the App Store or Google Play but by card on the app's website, the subscription won't show in your phone's settings. Then you need to cancel it in your account with the app, using the link in your purchase email, or by writing to the provider.

What should I do if I'm charged after cancelling?

Contact the provider in writing (by email): give the date you cancelled, attach proof and ask for a refund. If you bought from a Lithuanian seller and they don't reply within 14 days or refuse, you can contact Lithuania's consumer rights authority, the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (VVTAT), free of charge. If you paid by card, you can also ask your bank about disputing the payment.
