For parents and grandparents

Look after your loved ones – without complicated apps

Familiar Lithuanian home cooking and gentle reminders to get moving – for free. With Plus, there's also large text and chair exercises. Setting it up takes 5 minutes, and using it is really simple.

Familiar dishes

Buckwheat porridge with milk, cabbage rolls, cold beetroot soup, curd bake, cabbage soup. No kimchi – unless they fancy it.

Large text · Plus

Senior mode makes text and buttons bigger. Everything stays in the same place – nothing new to learn.

Chair exercises · Plus

5 minutes: shoulders, ankles, standing up from a chair, balance. Moves are shown one at a time, with a big timer.

Walk reminders

Reminders go into the phone's calendar – so they ring even when the app is closed and there's no internet.

Safe

Over 65: only a slow pace and more protein for the muscles. Allergies are handled strictly. No strict diets.

A simple account

Just an email and a password – no card. The data is encrypted, and nothing is lost if the phone goes missing.

How to set it up for your parents (5 min)

iPhone and iPadApp StoreComing soonAndroid phonesGoogle PlayComing soon
  1. On your parent's phone, open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) and search for “Dumpli”. The app is coming soon – we'll tell ambassadors first.
  2. Open it together and fill in the short quiz (about 2 minutes). Tick that familiar Lithuanian dishes are their favourites. From age 65, if you have Plus, senior mode switches on by itself.
  3. In “Me” → “Reminders”, choose a time for the walk and the exercises, then tap “Add to phone calendar”.
  4. Show them the “Today” tab: that's where the day's menu, water and “Move today” live. That's it.
Dumpli doesn't replace a doctor. If your loved one is ill, takes a lot of medicines, or has recently lost or gained a lot of weight, talk to their family doctor (GP) about any changes to what they eat first.

Questions

Does it cost anything?

The main part is free forever: familiar dishes, menus, the food diary, walks and reminders. Senior mode (large text and chair exercises) is part of Dumpli Plus – €4.99 a month or €39 a year. The first 100 people to join get Plus free for 12 months, and we're not taking any payments at all yet.

Does it need the internet?

Only the first time it's opened. After that the food diary, recipes and exercises work offline too, and reminders come from the phone's calendar.

Mum has diabetes or takes a lot of medicines. Is it suitable?

She can use the recipes and exercises, but in these cases we don't show calorie numbers – changes to what she eats need to be discussed with her doctor. Dumpli is a dumpling, not a doctor.

Why balance exercises?

The World Health Organization recommends that older people do balance and strength exercises on at least 3 days a week – they help prevent falls. A few minutes by a chair is enough.
