Why Dumpli exists
Because a meal-plan app can help you lose weight without burning a hole in your wallet. Soft outside, honest inside.
Before building Dumpli, we read hundreds of reviews of popular nutrition and weight-loss apps. Lots of people really did get results – which shows that plans, recipes and shopping lists help. But even more people wrote about unexpected charges, a cancel button they could barely find and recipes nobody could actually cook.
We're building Dumpli differently: first comes a free, useful community, recipes we test in our own kitchen, and a calm, safe pace. The paid part only arrives once the community tells us what's worth paying for.
Our principle
Health first, money later. We want to genuinely help, not just sell a subscription. That's why we tell the truth about expectations, remind you that moving – even a 15-minute walk or taking the stairs instead of the lift – matters just as much as what's on your plate, and we will never put health-critical information behind a paywall. The paid part of Dumpli is there so the app can keep going.
Who we build it for
- Anyone who wants to eat better – no diets, with clear numbers and filling recipes (in Lithuanian for now). Dumpli started in Lithuania, so the recipes lean towards Lithuanian and European home cooking.
- Seniors and the people close to them – familiar dishes, reminders to get moving, and with Plus, large text and chair exercises. For parents and grandparents.
- Families with children – ideas for little ones with safe-serving tips. Recipes for kids (in Lithuanian).
If Dumpli helps you, the best support is telling others about it. Other ways to support Dumpli.
Why a dumpling?
Because dumplings are everywhere – cepelinai (Lithuania's big potato dumplings), pierogi, pelmeni, gyoza. They're warm, filling and a little bit silly. And we don't believe eating well means giving up the food you love. It just needs a little tweaking.
Who we are
A small team from Lithuania. Our nutrition recommendations and safety rules are reviewed by a licensed dietitian (we'll share their name soon).
